Minority communities (young people) want to keep their roots, religion (rightfully so) but on the other hand they want to be considered as equal as the host country - which does not always happen. Tony: Why is there a big difference between immigrant young women and men? e.g. Turkish girls are more successful in Danmark (doctors, dentists) compared to Maghred guys. Why? Is it about 'wrong' role models? Is it because boys are allowed more to hang out (so not do schoolwork) - and girls should stay at home so are putting more time in education - which leads to better jobs. At another seminar, participants said that there is a big problem now for the immigrant girls to find husbands 'at their level'... Power to the women?!
